Meet the Maker
After retiring from Devon and Cornwall Police in 2016 following a 30-year career as a Detective, Steve pursued his lifelong passion for woodworking and wooden boats. In 2017, he enrolled in the prestigious long course in traditional wooden boat building at the Lyme Regis Boat Building Academy, earning a qualification equivalent to City and Guilds Level 3. This comprehensive program covered a range of hull construction techniques, including clinker, glued clinker, strip planking, carvel planking, and cold moulding.
Building on his expertise in boat building and repair, Steve has since expanded his craftsmanship to include bespoke wooden furniture, creating unique and timeless pieces for clients who appreciate the beauty and skill of traditional woodworking.
